State Bank of India (the “Bank”) is committed to protecting your privacy and to ensuring that any information you provide to us when you visit our website is used and stored in a responsible and secure manner. By using the Bank’s on-line services you accept that your information will be used in the manner, and in accordance with the terms, set out below.

Personal Data
 
In order to provide the on-line facilities requested by you the Bank may need to collect and store personal information obtained about you when you access the site. Such information may include your name and address and, in certain cases, may include details relating to your financial circumstances.

Your information may be used for the purposes of providing you with financial advice, making lending decisions, providing you with customer services and products, marketing our products and services (and those of reputable third parties) and fraud prevention and debt collection.
 
Transfers of Data
 
The Bank may share your personal data with other companies within the Bank’s group but where such personal data is shared the Bank will require all recipients to observe its privacy standards and allow it to audit them to ensure that such standards are complied with.

Information relating to your financial circumstances will not be disclosed, without your consent, to any third parties outside of the Bank’s group except for the purpose of fraud prevention or the Bank is required to make such disclosure by law or by any judicial bodies or agencies or to the Bank’s regulators. However, in certain circumstances the Bank may, under strict codes of secrecy, disclose such information to its sub-contractors or agents.

The Bank may also, in connection with the above and the provision of its on-line services, transfer your personal data to countries outside the European Union (“EU”) which may not provide the same level of protection for personal data as within the EU. However, all personal data, wherever it is held within the Bank’s group, will be afforded a high level of protection against any unauthorised or accidental disclosure, access or deletion.

Cookies are pieces of information which are transferred to a website file on a user’s computer hard disk. Cookies enable you to navigate around this website and enable the Bank to tailor the content to suit the needs of visitors who access the site.

The Bank will never ask you for this information and you should not disclose it to any third parties. If you receive any email or other request for such information you should delete it immediately and should not respond. If you think you may have disclosed any security information you must advise the Bank immediately.

If you are unhappy with the Bank’s use of your personal data or feel that the personal data held about you is incorrect please contact dataprotection@onlinesbi.com. Under the Data Protection Act 1998 you have a right to see the personal data relating to you which is held by the Bank.
